Revelle Resources

Revelle Resources is an independent oil and gas producing company committed to the exploration, and production of domestic oil and gas reserves. In 1965 Karen Revelle a self educated hard working family man broke away from his job in the Cattle Nutrition Industry in hopes of providing a better way of life for him-self and family. In the spring of 1965, under the strict guidance of the late Truman Drake, Karen Revelle drilled and successfully completed his first oil well and that set the stage for a fulfilling career that has spanned over 4 decades. Karen went on to drill 3 more wells that year and these first pay zones are still producing today.

Accomplishments

Probably one of the biggest accomplishments to date for Revelle Resources is the Hartley oil field in Clay County Illinois. Karen Revelle successfully drilled a test well in 1976 and over the past 30 years and their Direct Participants have successfully developed the property to 19 producing wells and has sold over 400K barrels of oil off of that lease. Additional recovery projects with new drilling technology and improved secondary recovery methods are being evaluated and designed for a low risk high impact recovery in different zones on this lease.

Our Family Business

Karen Revelle has belonged to numerous associations and most recently has served as a board member of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association. Revelle’s strong family values and work ethic has carried over to the next generation, and with this, Revelle Resources has become one of the best known, and most trusted independent oil company in the Illinois Oil Basin.  Today, Revelle Resources Inc is based out of Forsyth, Illinois, with a satellite location in the Chicago land area, and a field office in Southern Illinois.  Along with Karen, are his two sons, Brett K. Revelle (Director of Operations), Joseph J. Revelle (Director Investor Relations), Certified Petroleum Geologists and trusted Journeymen field operators setting the stage for the next generation of Oil and gas drilling opportunities.

Formula for Success

Revelle’s formula for success is based around the values and experience of the past combined with youth and cutting edge oil field technology.  Like Karen did back in 1965, we still discriminately hand select all of our geological prospects, and through this selection process about 80% of the wells we drill have proven to be commercially productive.  Through our drilling success, we have built a business on finding, funding and maintaining a continued influx of happy Direct Participants and Industry partners.  We have a very conservative approach to our project selection and exploration.  Our business brand is pretty simple, multiple pay zone potential, multiple well control, and proof of hydrocarbons are a few of the characteristics that are common in our projects.  This combined with up to date and ongoing new technology make us extremely confident in the prospects we drill.  Being in an industry with a stereotype of poor accountability, integrity, and communication, we take pride in knowing we give our partners peace of mind with quality prospects and full transparency.  With an ever growing global energy market, and rapidly depleting supplies these are exciting times to be in the forefront of today’s independent oil and gas producing companies.

The Oil and Gas industry has never before experienced a more favorable environment for investing directly at the well head than what’s unfolding around us each and every day.  The opportunities are enormous and I truly believe this is our finale oil boom, and likewise, extremely rewarding for those of us who make the important decision to participate in oil and gas drilling projects.
